FAST-FIX JEWELRY REPAIRS® (Fast-Fix) began in 1984 with one location in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and since then has grown to be a 107-location franchise. It is the only nationwide chain of stores devoted to while-you-watch jewelry and watch repair.

Fast-Fix recently chose Infocorp as the retail management solution provider for their franchise. We spoke to Peter LeCody, a Regional Franchise Owner with a total of seven locations, and also the first franchisee of Fast-Fix Jewelry Repairs. Hear Their Challenge

Peter has been using Infocorp's retail management system since 1992. Before installing Softwear/POS, he was using an electronic cash register. "We faced many inconveniences while using the electronic cash register. For instance, I had absolutely no control over inventory, which caused many problems. I decided I needed to look around for a new solution provider," said Peter. This is when he discovered Infocorp.

It has the reports I need to use to run my business, it allows me to keep valuable customer information, and I can now control my inventory."

Infocorp offers a wide array of reports that are included in the software. Peter has a list of the reports he finds most beneficial. These include Fast/Slow Selling, Inventory Turns, Sold On-Hand Analysis, Sales Period Analysis, and Sales by Day/Week. "I can use these reports to get specs on anything I need in no time at all and with minimal effort." Peter indicated.

Peter uses Infocorp's Customer Management to enhance the services the chain provides to customers. He stated, "We are able to generate specific mailers, and operate our FRC (Frequent Repair Customer) Program, all using Customer Management. This module gives us the ability to provide a higher level of service to our customer base."

According to Peter, the time he has saved using Softwear/POS has significantly cut costs and enabled him and his staff to move forward at a quicker pace. Inventory is no longer a headache for the staff at Fast-Fix - Peter values the fact that Infocorp has provided him with the ability to cut costs and time using Infocorp's Hand Held Count. "It now takes us one day per store rather than one week per store while doing inventory. I can scan the barcodes instead of physically counting every item in inventory. Also, my inventory is now current and up-to-date. I've been able to cut my inventory by 50% since I've started using Infocorp's software."
