Infocorp Teams with Digimarc on Tennessee Drivers Licensing System Contract

WINNIPEG, MB, March 18 /CNW/ - Infocorp Computer Solutions Ltd. (TSE:INP) ("Infocorp" or "the Company"), a leader in the design and delivery of point-of-service cashiering and multi-channel revenue management solutions for e-government and integrated retail management solutions for retailers, today announced a software license and maintenance support contract through its partner, Digimarc ID Systems, with the Tennessee Department of Safety.

As per the terms of the contract to develop and deploy the State's second-generation digital drivers' license issuance program, Infocorp and Digimarc ID Systems will implement an integrated service delivery and point-of-sale system to more than 100 of the Tennessee Department of Safety's in-state locations. Tennessee issues 1.4 million drivers' licenses annually.

"Infocorp is very pleased to be a part of this contract with Digimarc ID Systems and the State of Tennessee. Digimarc ID Systems (formerly Polaroid ID Systems) has been a strategic partner of ours since April 2000, and this win is a result of investments that both firms have made over the last two years in developing and marketing an integrated solution prototype," said Infocorp CEO Dwayne Mathers. "The deal firmly positions Infocorp's Access2Gov cashiering and revenue management product as a key component of next generation Department of Motor Vehicle solutions. It also highlights that Access2Gov is designed with the systems integrator in mind and can be configured to meet the needs of a wide range of potential users."

Point-of-sale is one of several customer service-focused applications that Digimarc ID Systems offers customers who want to build an integrated eDMV (electronic-Department of Motor Vehicle) environment using one supplier. The system designed for Tennessee will allow fees to be automatically calculated based on the type of card application processed, enable Department employees to process customer payments by credit card, cash or cheque, automate the reconciliation process, provide centralized reporting and interface with 230 Examiner Workstations state-wide for complete account reconciliation. The customized solution will reduce the time drivers spend when obtaining a license and also help to promote greater back-office efficiencies.

"Going forward, Infocorp's Access2Gov will be an important part of our integrated service offering," added John Munday, President Digimarc ID Systems. "We see a number of emerging opportunities similar to this one, where States are looking for efficient, cost-effective electronic driver registration systems that can meet the tough security standards needed in today's environment."
